Ek het afgekom op 'n paar baie interessante kanonne en wil graag die inligting wat ek gaan inwin, met julle deel
Hierdie is seker 'n draad wat net deur sekere belangstellendes gevolg gaan word

Gantouw pas - kanon nommer 396 en 397
Die een van Swede (1790), die ander van Engeland (1740) - albei 6 ponders



Dan was ons Saterdag na Franskraal toe gewees
Hierdie kanon kom van die Birkenhead skip af
Duidelik verwaarloos









Eintlik gaan soek na die kanon by Gansbaai hawe, maar niks gevind nie - baie teleurgestel, maar sal soek tot ons hom kry

Andy660 on WD (occasionally here too) is a member of the cannon society.  He has a project to ride to every cannon.  He has a good book about local cannons.

In Hout Bay there are some near Snoekies and also two sets on the Chapmans Peak side.

Blykbaar staan hy nou weer waar hy oorspronklik gestaan het
Was eers daar, toe dorp toe verskuif, en nou weer op sy plek
Die kanon was aangewend vir die stuur van seine

Ek weet nie of iemand die website al genoem het nie, http://www.caosa.org.za/

Het dit Saterdag op 'n pamflet gesien. Die Vriende van die Tygerberg het 'n klein kanonnetjie gebruik as starter gun vir die fietswedrenne Saterdag in die Jack Muller park hier by ons. Die eerste keer het almal gedink 'n gasbottel het ontplof  Smile
